When we’re working with rising professionals and upwardly mobile families, the biggest challenge we seem to face is that all of a sudden, complexity is starting to enter their world. They’re having children, they’re buying homes, they’re making more money. All of these things have added a lens that they’ve never really paid attention to before, and unfortunately, financial literacy hasn’t been something that’s been taught in our schools very often. So, a big part of what we try to do with that group is just kind of educate and make a baseline strategy and plan, predicated on their goals, their values, their vision for the future, in a way that’s going to help them make thoughtful decisions and start their financial lives, and ultimately entire lives, off the correct way.
