Career or Job Changes
The biggest challenge we see when we’re dealing with somebody who is considering a job change or a career change, is that the “grass is always greener.” And we tend to look at the situation that they’re walking away from as favorably as the situation they’re considering, so they can thoughtfully make objective decisions, both economically, as well as just emotionally, in terms of the potentially better fit for them, for whatever reason, but one of the common mistakes I’ve seen people make is the knee-jerk reaction of being in a job for 5 or 10 years or whatever, and maybe they don’t like it anymore, and anything else looks really good. And that can be a dangerous position to have, so we think being objective and analyzing, really taking a long hard look at what the possible pros and cons are of that new job decision, is critically important and that’s a big part of what we do.
